You're not kidding, and if you didn't wear gloves, they cut the edges of your hands to pieces, then of course, in winter they were soaked in salt from the roads and the pain was exquisite, and not in the good meaning of that word. But I still talk to old drivers today who say they never wore gloves, that they couldn't do a drivers' dolly hitch with them on.

Fiber optic cable and tractors and then more cable back east. I’m gonna need a long run one of these days soon just to get out west and do some quality steering wheel holding.
Though on the positive side I have been home with freight on the deck the past two weekends…. -
Flatbed freight has been ridiculously slow out west here for last couple months and fuel is going back to the moon. Paid 5.50 a gallon in washington state and am having to wait a whole day for a reload everytime i go there now.. im sure rates are pure trash
