Is that just an old wore out trailer or is it a misuse of that specific model , ie not for rolled steel ?CAXPT, Carpenter Scotty, Kyle G. and 7 others Thank this.

Both.
Third picture you can see where the side rail has been welded back together once. Just behind the chain there's a weld bead and the outer rail failed right along the weld. Looks like they tried to plate over a crack.
That trailer also has crossmembers too far apart and the frame rails look pretty thin so doubt it has a coil package on it.
That trailer was designed for hauling lumber and other building materials spread across the entire deck. -
Did he take chains off or really only have 2 chains on that thing ? The coil racks spaced way out not anywhere near the coil... Trailer in bad shape. Trucks probably not far behind. This picture pretty much sums up whats wrong with the industryCAXPT, cke, Diesel Dave and 11 others Thank this.

I don’t know if those were the only two chains, or not.
They were the only two chains on it when we pulled in to fuel. -
