Tiger Cats are an absolute beast. I worked in the logging industry for several years and those are some tough machines.

 

Couple of college jobs this week U of IL-Urbana McHenry County College random WI machine shop

 

Yellow pine is slicker than snot

 

Hate it when that happens. Is that stuff kiln dried or is it just the nature of the beast?

I really hate hauling melamine for that reason.

 

It was kiln-dried. It's the first time hauling southern yellow pine, and I didn't realize how slippery the boards are. They have a waxy texture.

 

You aren’t lying. I had that happen once.
Now I do this if I haul that stuff.

 

Two old tricks I've used are to put an extra 2X4 sticker on the front and rear units so they're inclined towards the center of the trailer, and/or throw an extra strap at the very end of the unit.

I've seen a couple of ugly ones over the years - just lucky they weren't mine.

Not as many dozers in the wild, yet. Skidders and the like are everywhere though!
