	Is that 1/4" lintel? If so, is that so you don't get burn through welding the goat fence on? Or do you feel that it's necessary for the load holding? Or is that all you had around?

	No, it’s not 1/4”. It’s quite a bit thinner than that, probably 1/8” at most. The heavy lintel would make it a real job to pack around all the time.
