    Sigh,.. thanks.
I'll check it all in the morning. I hate not knowing what I know I am supposed to know.

I asked him about the length and he said I'll be fine,.. but did not answer my question. Now I need to know for certain.

My wife is in the back sleeping. She would freak out and go ape on me if I got fined for anything. She's been in a foul mood all week over whats happening with my personal truck. Last thing I need is for something else to create more stress for us.

Just measure it all and make sure you are good to go before you put it in gear. Make sure all your axle spacings are correct as well.

    Who me?

No sir,.. I want my little Columbia and step deck back.

This is out of my comfort zone and way out of my league as far as costs and money are concerned.

My carrier has 5 of these and I know he makes some ridiculous money with them. He's drives a $135k Telsa sedan, his wife has a $200k Benz, he just bought a new T880 and 4 axle trailer, and when I was putting my stuff in this truck he asked if I wanted to come down to Costa Rica to look at some beach property he was thinking about buying. He knows I dont like to fly.

I own a modest home on 5 acres in Fla. I cant even afford to pave my property and get a truck parking area set up. Soon as I think I'm looking good and getting flush in the bank,.. something comes up. Last year was nice,.. this year has been hard on me.

Please take this as constructive help.

For some of us this is how we try to make our living and times are tough right now. So when carriers get into the mix without the right groundwork, we get testy a little. I know that I will try and help you get there if there is anything I can help with.

Someone posted 110k load to kS from CO for $4k or $8/mile and if you didn't know what goes into moving that load it would seem great. Except the escorts last te I ran that route were $2300.

I have benefitted greatly from the accumulated knowledge here and the encouragement fr guys doing the job. I have worked very hard to learn the underlying rules and regs. I am just a single truck shop.

    I wish you the best

Be careful of where your fifth wheel is when you weigh it out. That's where you need to always split weigh your pusher (until you get it figure out anyway) I'm always amazed when I see 4 axle tractors going down the road with the pusher down and the fifth wheel right above or even a little behind the front drive axle. At that point the pusher is overloading the drives and taking weight off the steer. That's why you need lots of slide and a long neck. Also a lot of state's want that pusher (any axle "group" actually) to equalize across all the axles. IN Ohio if your legal on the group but the pusher is real light they will void your permit, which means back to 80,000 and a fine for everything over. I wanted to point out another thing on width. I always pad my permit for everything but occasionally you will get something that is real close to your permitted width for various reasons. I'm never very anal about getting something "perfectly" square, but if your actual width is close to your permitted width you better. I have had them measure the overhang on each side and add the 2 bigger numbers together to determine the "actual" width. If you permit is for 11' 6" it should fit through a hypothetical 11'6" tunnel, a crooked machine will be wider.
