I see your point on the lower center of gravity. I think it's just one of the many things in trucking where truckers will argue both sides forever. I appreciate your input.

No flatbed in this photo but I just lost all my coolant on the busiest highway in Canada during rush hour with only a narrow shoulder to stop on (tires still on the line).
I wondered if it was on fire when I saw the smoke billowing from underneath near the driver's side fuel tank.

Craziest thing I ever did was years ago I was still running my 359 pete. Had a load of frozen on in a reefer. Hot. Middle of summer. Reefer hadn't come off high idle in 2 days. Would pull down at night but 4-5 P.M was not good. Was running across Montana headed for southern Idaho. Got out past billings and started to notice pulling over hills my air compressor couldn't keep up. Stopped and check for air leaks. Nothing. At Idle wouldn't even keep up. Cruising rpm 1500 would just keep up. I had just overhauled the compressor myself a couple of weeks before. **** Tore unloader valves apart and put old parts back in. Same thing. **** Thinking now it's the rings. Now what. Made a few calls couldn't find parts or a used single cylinder Cummins compressor. Closest new one was in Salt Lake. Sat there for an hour listening to that reefer roaring away. Temp on the rise. **** I know what will happen when I head into West Yellowstone. Wound up buying the biggest Inverter I could find. Hard wired it to the batteries with a jumper cable. Bought me a little bitty 110 volt air compressor and stuffed it in the coffin Bunk sleeper. Ran a air hose out the floorboard and into the air drain hole in the wet air tank. Tried it out. Had to take the relief valve off my new compressor but it worked like a charm. Trust me you wont get sleepy when a air compressor kicks on in your bunk every few minutes.Lastkidpicked and tsavory Thank this. -
