I think I actually drive more carefully with the flatbed and shorter loads then I did with my reefer. I'm not sure if it's because of my accident or being more involved with my loads.

Something about that load being so exposed and knowing the dangers involved. Self preservation plays a strong roll in my decision making process.
HurstCanadianVaquero and Chewy352 Thank this. -
I agree.....a flat bed keeps you thinking about the load!

Worse load shift I ever had was a load of lumber on 2x4 dunage had stacks of 8 footers 3 straps front and rear set and 2 each other set. Them straps was tight and the front stack first curve slipped to the right no where to stop next curve slipped to the left doing 25-30 on in a 55. Finally got somewhere I could stop tried to tighten but could not get a click. Took my 4' pry bar and was able to slide the front 4 stacks with the straps still tight so took old straps and nailed four straps 2 front and 2 back of the front stack tightened the straps never thought about moving again.

Swung past the house on the way north yesterday. Got around 2 inches of rain. 30 miles to the south they got flooded with over 5. Soybeans look a little pissed off about it.
My big load a stuff.
Finally peace and quiet.

Got this machine and tubing today. I wish I would've had them load the machine in front so I could tarp it separately with my center tarp and all the tubing and racks together and used my two end tarps on them. Oh well another hard learned lesson.
skootertrashr6, Sleepy68 and Hurst Thank this. -
Done,.. delivered.
Picking up at Keen in Victoria tomorrow morning.
Anyone know whats going on with holiday travel restrictions for permit loads this weekend?
HurstDye Guardian, skootertrashr6 and Sleepy68 Thank this. -

Picking up a CAT 349F at Keen in the morning (Victoria Texas). Driver here said Texas permits are shutting down at noon. I tried looking it up online but cant find any info on it. Delivers up to Milwaukee, Wi. They'll probably route me up through La due to I'll be over weight on my quads for Ar,.. doubtful,.. but would like to try to make La before noon-ish. But if its the same thing in La,.. then I may as well find a clean place to park here in Texas and suck it up.
My wife isnt liking the idea of being stuck in the truck all weekend. She's like well lets rent a car,.. Um,.. no,.. if anything happens to the machine we're toast. The look she gave me was not good.
