My wife is a former LEO/Detective,.. now retired. Has some friends in the right places.

Going to get me a number on Tuesday to call. Said the guy can get anyone off anything.

What is your tare weight, I know you posted it I'm just to lazy to go back and look. We have a 349 we just bought this summer, that's how I haul it but I haven't had a chance to get it across the scales yet.

I'm a hair over 60k full of fuel.

    EDIT:
Papers say machine is 86,100 as shipped.

I think they are off a bit.

    I scaled,

    Steers - 9680
    Drives - 64,200
    Trailer - 69,840

So that machine weighs around 88,000 give or take depending on specific specs. That's about what the book says, thanks.

Yes,.. I would say closer to 88k vs the 86k my paperwork says.

    No bucket
    No counter weight
and the low fuel light is on,.. so take into account the weight of fuel as well.

20150908_162106.jpg 20150908_162042.jpg 20150908_162027.jpg My first coils. I would rather have used chains but I only have 10 chains and binders and would need 14 so I used straps on the coils and built two bulkheads to prevent forward and rearward motion. I think I did a pretty good job over securing but I'm sure someone would disagree. Constructive criticism welcome.

Looks better than only 1 strap over the center of each one, if some of the chains are long you can hook both ends one one side an x them over top and use 2 screw binders on the otherside, only need 5 chains?

Ya I saw in the securement handbook how I could do one over each of the middle ones but I didn't like it so I followed the single coil rules. Plus as a group you have to have the strap in front and back horizontal. It just looks like it would fall down. I can't wrap my head around it.

Oh and I'm pretty sure my chains aren't long enough to double them up.

Back at it after 9 days off. Loaded up in Minot, ND taking it Vegas and dropping it there so they can have a carrier from Cali pick it up and take it to Fontana image.jpg image.jpg

Looks good to me.. I used to load skidded coils up in WA all the time and I would put 3 on straps on the front and back coils then 1 over the ones in the middle. Never had anything move or shift, but yours will look better to DOT
