image.jpeg Unloading 50 tonne (112,000 lb) of steel railway sleepers (railroad ties?) at a small rural grain siding in NSW. I was right on the max legal weight of 81 tonnes (181,440 lbs). The old girl certainly was grunting up some of the 7% grades of the Great Dividing Range.

Oz, thank you for always posting your cool pics.
I'm sure MJ, JohnDeere4020 and I can agree on one thing-- the grain silos in the background make the pic!

Ozdriver, johndeere4020 and MJ1657 Thank this.

I unloaded there yesterday. Looks like the whole area is in for a good harvest with crops looking good. They are cropping right now. They are upgrading these rural lines which are pretty ancient with old Alcos hauling at the head end.
Most of the grain hauling is done by B trains and road trains but only on specific routes. Otherwise it's done by single trailers to silos like in the pic.

Wheat, barley, canola and sorghum seem to be the main crops. Cotton is also big in the irrigation areas.

Al. Roper, blacklabel and MJ1657 Thank this.

Maybe so but it was down to 15 mph on some of the steep pinches and the engine was working it's ring out. When it's wet I've had wheel spin-out in some places.... I thought it was jumping out of gear
