    LOL

I've done RT9 a few times. Thats a twisty road full of hills and speed traps in the little towns along the way. Very scenic and beautiful in the summer time.

I never got hassled by the DOT inspection guys. They seemed to have their hands full with the loggers and scrap trucks. They even had a 1 ton stake bed truck pulled in and let me pass through. Black hood and all,.. go figure.

From NH up 95 into Me,.. the tolls suck,.. but its the fastest way up to Bangor.

This was in Me summer of 2014.

I've been as far north as Smyrna. I was in the 386,.. tired,.. I took a load of lumber on my way out and I forgot to spread my tandems before getting loaded. I had a 2 hour wait and took a nap. They knocked on my door and woke me from a dead sleep. I pulled over to get loaded and I totally failed by not spreading my axles first.

Either the trailer was broken or they way it spread what malfunctioning,.. because you the brake on the first axle did not release when you pulled the pins for the rear axle to spread. So with 48k of lumber on the trailer,.. I attempted to slide the rear axle,.. I got it to move about 6 inches and POP!,.. broke my drive axle. I got it to slide the rest of the way by releasing the trailer brakes,.. locking in my differentials,.. then hit the trolley brake to get it to slide the rest of the way back to lock in.

Drove from Smyrna down to Bangor with the rears locked to the Pete there in order to get the axle replaced.

Got this from a friend that's working on the project I'm (hopefully) going to be starting the first of the year.
Note to self- don't go around corners too fast with 25t rocks on the deck of a hi-boy. Driver wasn't hurt, lucky guy

And here I thought it was something big to strap a dirt bike to the bulkhead of my hay trailer.

Until I saw Catalina Flyer's pic and his car!

We must work for the same company. They advertise 5 days out home most weekends. Well let's see. I was just out from Thanksgiving to Christmas that's 4 weeks. Then had 2 three week trips before thanksgiving.

The white one is a 3512, and the other, a 3516. Too bad it was covered up. :confused1:

Most of the time when I see them on the road people use 4 chains over the top of the skid. They have the outside chains just inside the bolts that fasten the corners of the skid together and hook the ends past the end of the skid to pulling back, or forward. Suppose that would work, not sure if I trust those bolts that much.
    They are just under 20k.

First flatbed load I have pulled in about 3 months. 1124.jpg Spent 6 hours loading it on Thursday. Rained the whole time. It took them an hour and a half just to figure out what I was getting. Then the circus crew starts pulling lids and trying to stack them inside each other in a foot of mud. After 3 more hours I only had 1 stack on the truck.
So I called their boss and told him I was leaving in 30 minutes with whatever was on the truck.
The bosses kid showed up 5 minutes later and asked what it would take to make me wait. I told him $80 an hour after the first 2. He told me I would have a check in hand when they got done.
I give him credit. He got in the mud with the rest of them. Climbing into used dumpsters fancy cloths and all. We got all done and I followed him up the road to the office. Picked up a check for $320 and got to fill my belly off of the company Christmas meal. A happy ending to a crappy day for sure.
