Someone running local out of MI told me he goes for the switch on the dash to lift his trailer axles every time he comes to a corner... In his F-150! Tells me his wife thinks he's crazy, hahah.

You spend most of your life in a truck it becomes second nature. Most of my career I've drove a Pete or Kenworth, they have their key switches on the lower left of the dash, this Western Star has it in the middle I still reach to the left to start or shut off my truck.

I do the same thing. My wife pokes fun at me for turning wide in our commuter vehicles.

It didn't seem to shift at all. Of course we won't know 100% till the tarps come off in the morning. I had a single strap on each of the bottom layers. Then 2 accross each row on top except two in the middle cause I ran out of dang straps. Shouldn't happen again though between the 3 new company 2 inch straps at $40 a pop and the 2 4 inch winches I picked up today out of pocket.

As for the bundles of chain link they're steel strapped in layers of 3 each layer to the base layer so they seemed pretty tight.

My biggest concern was shredding my tarps. All 4 of my moving blankets went accross the front and then my smoke tarp accross the back. Then where needed I put my dunnage under the top straps to keep the top of my tarps off the chain link. .

@johndeere4020 STILL, after YEARS of other trucks, every once in a while I reach to the upper left corner of the dash for the Jake. (Where it should be, by the way.)

Love it! Love the old style trolly brake on the dash.

Only thing missing is the fan on the dash.

The human mind is a peculiar specimen. Is the tractor brake release the silver button to the right toward the glove box?

@Hurst, by 72 fans were pretty much gone. There was a valve above the throttle & to the right that shut the water off to the heater, you could reach it while driving. Then the fan did its job by blowing air in your face via the adjustable dash vents. This truck could have had A/C & P/S but the driver that helped order it was also the mechanic & didnt want more stuff to have to fix.
