Some places say no dunnage with splits in it. I've not had a problem and mine is crap but it's what my company provides.

I can see that dunnage with a split would break easier as it is weakened but I think it would depend of the direction the force is applied. If the force is pushing the split together I would think it's fine. Now take that board with a split and toss it off the deck letting the end hit the ground first and it'll snap.

You can put the dolly up like here: http://i.imgur.com/yoXydUd.jpg
but it illegal because it is over length, so we only do that on rough dirt roads in the middle of nowhere.
Just about all country towns have got a ramp anyone can use, this one was at the showground where they hold ag shows.Truckstops in roadtrain country often have them as well.

    Yeah, it's a 3408. Used to have a 16 speed Spicer but now it's a Eaton Roadranger 22918B, 18 speed. Eaton DS460 diffs, 4.56 ratio.

Anyway you could mount a hitch to the back of the dolly and stuff the tongue under the pup??

how many gallons are you carrying? Have the rear ends rebuilt a couple of times.

You could do that and a couple of guys have tried it but there is so much stuffing around it's easier to tow it for a relatively short distance, 600 km / 373 miles in this case.

    1800 liters / 475 gals.
I bought 2 brand new diff centers and a factory re-man Roadranger about 3 years ago.

I can understand that. I wouldn't screw with it either for 300 miles. By the time you dink around you could be halfway there.

@Ozdriver I'd imagine with all those extra lights the terrories looking like the Vegas strip at night, budd wheels take the weight better than aluminum?

Terrories = trailers? Yeah, there's a long string of lights specially with a triple.
They are steel one-piece demountable rims, still popular over here for heavy remote area work, Alcoas you see on the main highways.
