With something top heavy and big like that would it help to run the top chains at more of an angle than they are at? Not sure if that would even make a difference or not just curious
-
Sure it could help some little bit. But the degree of change in angle would result in a 1%-2%-3% gain, unless you went 10' forward and back. Not much real world difference. It is not going to "fly" forward the way it is chained if you crash. As chained, it is going to take the whole trailer over with it when it goes. Small gains are important, just not getting you anywhere with that load.Rugerfan Thanks this.

Just curious, were you cruising up the northway yesterday afternoon? Thought I saw a truck like yours in the pic around Round Lake heading north
-
yup stop at Lake Luzerne to pick up an 8 foot tarp and then headed up there, Danby to pick up the stone
Nice to know your around -
-
Thought so, nice looking Star. Im right up off 11 around the corner from the old Grand Prix.

Exactly the same thing I was thinking. Even something like 1/4" channel just the size of your stake pockets with the stakes cross chained between the top and bottom bundles would make me feel better. I wouldn't put any faith in those steel bands.Bigchevy Thanks this.
