With non-wheeled loads, you want to try and keep the force DOWN, and not at an angle. There is no need for forward/rear chaining. You want to basically "hold down the load to the deck"
The load was actually pretty easy, and I over-secured the heck out of it. I had 9 of my 3/8 chains on it. I could have rolled the truck over and it would have stayed right where it was. Thankfully I didn't have to test the theory lol
