It's my first month as a flat bedder and I recently delivered a load of pallets that had stacks of 5 gallon buckets with drywall product inside them. They were wrapped but plastic seemed weak I strapped every five feet down the load and proceeded to tarp. There is no way to strap down every row of buckets. Another flatbed guy told me that tarp pretty much does most work of keeping them together. Is this true? Or is there a right/certain way to secure them down?

Wood v boards. 1 by or 2 by 4s 8 foot long. Take 2 of them and set them parallel to each other. Then take 2 maybe 1 foot sections of strap and screw them onto the wood.

Hopefully someone is able to post a picture. I can get mine out right now.

When you get a load like that you set one board on top of the load and let the other hang down the side. It helps to spread out the down force of the straps.

I would dare say never count on tarps to hold the load together. Although I did have a load of foam 2X4s once and the tarp was all that kept the middle from sliding out the back. ;)
