You see my load of steel (skidded coils, tarped) I picked up Monday? 12 hours to load. LOL.

Yes, and that's dumb even by steel union guys standards.

Funny though I was in the same place picking up almost the same load the other week and was in and out quick with no problems.

This time the load wasn't even ready when I got there, then when they finally pulled me into the building they couldn't find two of the 11 coils and then took one of the 9 off because it was wrong so I ended up taking only 8.

That's ok though, it's allowed me to run it overnight and hey I experienced the best sleep of my life yesterday (Tuesday) during the day. ;)

Second pick is a loaded shotgun ready to go off with a good punch of the brakes not to mention the perfectly square load! First pick has a few things missing.

That first load is deceptively wide. It's wider than it looks. It was probably near 14ft. And it's way down low. This is one of those loads that you want to draw as much attention to as possible. Whether beacons were required or not, I would have ran 2 beacons on the trailer and 2 Amber fox fires at the extremities. Light that load up.
Good driver, hugged the fog line, looked out ahead for obstructions on the shoulder...just needed a bit more attention to the load.

2nd pic, the load shifted. It's loose. 1 hard brake and it's gone.

Sometimes there are loads where you got a bunch of different size pieces on the trailer. 1 inch straps are perfect for securing smaller objects to the bigger objects. Bad picture, half a mile away and superhauler calls it. One of the things I always point out to new drivers is if a person knows what he is looking at, he call tell a half a mile a way whether you are an idiot or not. A seasoned diesel bear will ruin your year. And an unsecured load ticket voids your ManCard for 6 months.

Had a run in with Skooter friend on 270 columbus yesterday. That dot sheriff. He followed me for 9 miles then pulled me over at my exit. Purty decent guy. He couldn't find anything wrong. He stated I was doing a good job. I stated thanks for waiting to stop me in a safe spot. It was a good day.

Saw this at the truck stop, don't like how he doesn't have a strap directly on the front of the mats but the loader will stop them from going anywhere dangerous.
