That is the funny thing about concrete pipe. You can see the chains running over the front pipe? Well those are attached to 3/8" cables that run all the way to the back of the load. Those secure the pipe into a seemingly solid object. That and wedge blocks on the front and rear it all acts as a solid piece. It's kinda weird and hard for me to explain. Besides, you never seem to have pipe move on you unless it is under 24" and then you use V boards and straps on the top layer to prevent the side to side movement. I have never had any on the bottom layer move, it's only when you have a second layer of pipe.

These are 18" pipes and here is what I do. The pipe wants to walk the bell end off the top and since you do not want the bell to sit on the male end there was room for the 4x4s up there.

Got a gravy day, brought this load to NRG Stadium so our boys from Royal Purple Raceway can put some sticky stuff down to build their drag strip for the races today.

So I sit here until they are done and then haul it back

    Hey @MJ1657

What's the best point to use on the rear of a tractor that has nothing attached?

I used the hitch thingys that connect attachments but didn't like so little of my hook fit between the crack.

    MJ1657 Thanks this.

Are you asking about points to tie it down? By the way the "hitch thingys" are three point hitch arms.

You don't want to use the three point arms. The hydraulics can relax and they can move down. They usually free float up as well. You can usually slide a chain through the draw bar support but it just depends on the model of tractor. Here's a pic of one I'm hauling right now. IMG_20160625_110805555.jpg

You can also put a shackle in the pin hole on the drawbar.
