What the hell are you pulling out of Minnesota? Not much I can think of other than steel, used machinery, lumber, shingles, or steel tanks and such.

This parked next to me at the Loves in West Memphis. No chains, one strap in front and two in the back. Yup, I don't see DOT havin a problem with that. Smh.

I see 4 straps, looks like 3-4" and and 1 2". That's right around 40,000 pounds of tie downs. I take it you haven't hauled much machinery. You tie it down where you won't do any damage, typically specified by the shipper. You aren't the guy that tried to throw five straps over a brand new injection molding machine in NJ a couple weeks are you. If so they are still talking about you. DOT isn't going to say anything to this guy unless that piece weighs over 40k.
