The blade has to be fastened independent of the machine, same reason that chains preventing articulation or a chain over the stick don't go toward aggregate WLL. Now that being said the rules don't specifically state that but they bust you here for it. They want at least 5 chains on a dozer like that.

Oscar the KW and MJ1657 Thank this.

I thought it was because they don't like Massey tractors around your place.

    Hurst and macavoy Thank this.

Well they got her off without a hitch. They grabbed their most senior guys a supervisor and the safety manager to supervise.

They braced the leaning side with 3 forklifts. Hooked the crane on the top of the lean and had me release straps one at a time. I only ended up cutting one strap that was above my box. I guess that's not a bad day in my book. I hate those extreme straps anyways.

We need a sticky thread for loads gone bad. Mods can regulate the negativity and keep things constructive. Put all the learning experiences in one place so us new guys can just scroll through and learn. I volunteer my two for the top 2 posts.

I do have a Massey 65 in the barn so I'm a little unfaithful.

    lol Ohio

On a more serious note, does an attachment have to be secured by a wll? Aka can I use my winch?

I would be thrown in jail in you guys world. When I move our D-6R I secure the 4 corners and haul arse. I leave the blade all the way up. I am still wait ing for that moment when a DOT man explains to me why I have to secure the blade. Thats when I will be hauled off.

Maybe it is just Ohio but that's my world. I wouldn't be surprised to find it that way other places, we'll wait for some of the other equipment haulers to check in.

    macavoy Thanks this.

I used to be that way but they have beat it out of me, it's just easier to go along than fight. The latest thing is securing outriggers on backhoes not sure whats next.

    MJ1657 Thanks this.
