    :eek::eek::eek:

    I'll take that exact truck, but with a shorter wheelbase (for Canadaland), a longer shifter (why is it so short!?), better colour and equipment for flat deck.

    Holy crap that's an outstanding truck! Every single thing down to the suspension parts and jockey box isn't ignored with that class and style.

    Let me swing at this tree from the other side. The other day you posted the pictures of that excavator when you were asking about shims. You had 8 chains and binders on the tracks and one over the stick, why did you have the one on the stick? Just because that's the way you were taught?

    One thing I'm kinda fuzzy on and have never been able to get a straight answer from anyone dot or otherwise on, I've made peace with chaining booms and blades and controlling articulation but where does it say those don't go toward your total aggregate WLL? Food for thought.

    I've always considered the stick an attachment. That's also why I only use a 3/8" chain on it and not a 1/2" like the rest of the machine gets.

    Edit: when I tie down the front bucket on a backhoe, I use a short 5/8" chains that I have for light trucks.

    I'm lazy, I like slinging the smallest chain possible.

    Beautiful truck. Not sure how practical that would be for my needs though. Still nice to look at.

    I've looked at a few trucks in the upper end of my price range and starting to come to the conclusion that not sure what they actually sell for,.. but either 379 Petes are becoming the over priced collector muscle car,.. or these guys are nuts. The few trucks that I have looked at are not even close to worth what they are asking.

    Been thinking that it might be easier to buy a basket case and just build it into something I want.

    That's fine I'm not talking about WLL you could use 20 5/16 chains or whatever it would take to secure it. I'm asking why you put a chain over the stick at all?

    As stated above, I've always considered it an attachment.

    I understand, and I'm not trying to argue just for the sake of arguing if you want me to leave it alone say the word, we've always had a good relationship and I want that to continue. But the reason the chain is there is because it needs to be fasten to the deck. Why not throw a 1/2" chain over and leave one off the tracks? You hit you're WLL and threw one less chain.

    I totally respect your opinion.

    The reason why I use 4 chains & binders on the rear tracks is to get my 80% rear force wll. If I ever have to slam on the brakes, I want the extra security of knowing, I won't be buried a pancake.

    I even put 4 rear chains and binders on our 290's when no one else does.

    But I'm having an adult beverage now so I'm out of this convo until tomorrow.
