@johndeere4020 You're right about auto Cascadias not being cool, lol. I'm thinking of 'giving' mine back... I think I've had enough of the autoshift.

passingthru69, Hurst, Chewy352 and 2 others Thank this. -
The problem with the hours of service is the people that abuse it. What hurst was says my ive heard from a bunch of guys and if I remember correctly when the hos changed you could stop your clock with 5 hours which would be better. But you have people that would stop their clock and then load and unload or perform some other duty I know that used to happen all the time under the old system. These are the same drivers afraid to tell dispatch their tired and going to bed. Maybe it's just me but I guessing from getting to know some of you here I suspect I'm not alone, if dispatch told me to run when I told them I'm not safe or wanted me to run illegal I would have no problem telling them to pound sand. Especially with a bottom feeder company there's a thousand more jobs just like it.

Secondly jd, it won't be long until drivers are technology advanced enough to run 2 sets of e-logs just like they use to run 2 sets of paper logs.
And companies will do everything they can in that regard to enable them. -
Oh mac there are ways to get around elogs for now. I've been on paper the last week. Stuff breaks.
I've had my dispatcher try to push me once. I told him to come drive the truck himself if he didn't like the way I drive it. Then I shut my phone off and got some sleep. Next morning when I still made the delivery on time he was all apologies and I haven't had a problem since.
I know what happens when you wreck a truck and I don't ever want to go through that again. Only 6 more months and I don't even have to mention it on most applications ever again. I ain't risking that.
Now typically I need my 8 hours sleep. I can safely make due with less but the next night I'll be in a coma for my 10. I like the 10 hour break and the 30 minute break but I don't need the government forcing me to take them. The problem is drivers that don't know their limits and who are intimidated by their companies. -
