    Indeed.

In my experience, these were the most ignorant things to have to deal with....

    Asphalt pavers
    Stand-up electric forklifts
Anything small enough to not be built with standard tie-down lugs.

@Zeviander If I'm lucky I might be getting my hands on a 2010 Pete (aero body style), recent new engine, new trans and new rear end. Nothing like yours but it means me getting back into a manual trans so I'll be happy...

    Let me clarify.

In the picture of the mini excavator n the securement method is Indirect. No matter how many binders you put on that chain, it will still only count as 1.
To fix this, you would have to go from an indirect to direct. How? Instead of throwing the chain over the tracks, you hook DIRECTLY from machine to trailer, 1 point, throw the excess chain to the opposite side and secure. This is what I was referring to as short chaining...1 chain, 2 direct securements.

Cheater chain is short, custom pieces of chain that are just.long enough to reqch from the machine to the trailer. It's the lazy man's way of not having to drag chains.

I've got tons of cheater chains or "tail chains" I had more at one point but had to give them up for longer chains to do more of the weird shaped stuff we've been doing. Worked great for machines though.

This machine is a little bigger but here's how I do it, I use my short slip/grab chains but I have plenty of "cheater" chains as six calls them we always called them junk chains that's irrelevant. Something else they're good for is fishing through a hole the a hook is too small to fit through. Anyway this is how I do it.

I do this on all four corners, it pull back and down, never had one come loose.

Anyone hauling machinery needs to make a set of cheater chains.

"How many in a set, Six?"

Depends on your wagon. Average driver needs 8 on board. Mac is only pulling 1 at a time and none of them big enought o articulate in the middle, so 4 would do him just fine.

Cheater chains are the secret weapon.
