Might check local Fire Dept for 4" hose they might have some that they had to remove from service like Chewy mentioned. I ended up with a 50 foot ripped hose.

The way they want the chains (or chain ends on straps) still properly engages the weld on the pocket in the right direction. And I was thinking about all you guys today when I was doing the chains. I'm like "I should put it all the way around the pocket, but they won't like that... grrr".

It's not like they haven't done their research, or haven't had the experience with drivers who do it wrong and damage the equipment. I always try to use the posts when I can anyways. I don't like the pockets. There is so much more weld that could be compromised.

And I wish I had a dedicated trailer to keep my own stuff on. Being a local guy, I can go through 3-7 trailers a day. We have a standard "loadout" of dunnage, carpet, corners and straps, but it's impossible to get everything I could need into my truck. And it doesn't help that if they were to give us beveled dunnage, most drivers would take it not knowing what it's for, and those who do, wouldn't return it from where they got it from for the next guy.

    Lepton1 and Chewy352 Thank this.

From what I can see you're only pulling on one weld of the stake pocket. I assume the rating on a stake pocket is for both welds. I could very well be wrong but I did stay at the prostar in last night. Oh wait. . .

Tis. We have a couple customers down in Southern Ontario that order them fairly regularly.

Sounds like there's too much hand holding at your company! I couldn't work at a place that is that militant on how you do things. I get tieing down specialty stuff but how the heck can someone in the office dictate how you hook a chain to a stake pocket!

Lepton1, whoopNride, Chewy352 and 4 others Thank this.

image.jpeg Loading a 20 ton granite block with the biggest forklift I've ever seen. One block per trailer.
This pic was taken long before I did up the truck and trailers.
"Forklift" is a Komatsu WA900 loader.

Pipe 40, Zeviander, MACK E-6 and 9 others Thank this.
