Somehow I can never manage to pull that off.
As luck would have it mine was buried in the back of the pile. 2 1/2 hrs in the rain.

 

Hey sir, sir. That back strap isn't in the rub rail.

Couldn't resist. I wanted to tell you first before some door swinger did.

 

Funny you should say that, this is how I hook them on the rub rail. Either way you do it, some part of the strap will be outside the rails.
