Picked up this load near Houston this morning, headed to Carlsbad, NM. Less than 15K lbs.

The shipper asked if I could chain it, but after getting them side by side, threading the first couple of sets, I realized my binder handles would end up way outside the rub rail. Stowed the chains and threw straps, making sure to get a twist anywhere air could catch, and placing edge protectors.

Sitting at the customers yard for the night. Never had to tighten any of the straps. Smooth run. Now hoping to find something good for tomorrow, hopefully in the general direction if OKC.

Saw a nifty trick bout a hour ago, standard flat running rail cans with straps over, well to kill wind vibration on his straps, he didn't half twist. He took edge protecters and put them up against the side of the can, as he cranked they flattened out, added a pitch of a few inches to the straps, they were not slack at all....

Grab a load of salt from the mines and take to Amarillo or something. I got lucky once and got one taking me to within 30 miles of the house, and I live in the middle of nowhere western Oklahoma.

It's hard to find one worth hauling, though. And they have to be tarped.

    Iron-Man, Lepton1 and MJ1657 Thank this.
