Those salt loads require tarps IIRC and only pay $500 to OKC. I ended up committing to a load of pipe paying $650, picking up tomorrow morning east of Lubbock. So half of the miles to OKC will be deadhead. I hate waiting a day. I like to be in position in OKC on Thursday or Friday to snag long hauls paying $3-4 per mile, but lately that's a crap shoot.

I don't know what the gearing is in her but she only pulls 1500 rpms at 80 mph. Probably shocked everyone in Wyoming that I passed. The probably have never seen a Freightliner moving that fast... LOL

I'd just be surprised that a freghtliner could keep up after I came around you.

Not sure on the straps but I knew I'd have a bunch of corner protectors so I counted for fun. 32

Lol... Funny thing is that it really did not sound like she was working that hard. At 1500 RPMs she still had some longer legs left in her...;) First N14 for me so still some getting used to. The biggest issue I have with it is the lack of room to stretch the right leg. Heck on the way south I was pushing it pretty hard and still managed 4.5 and on the way back, not pushing as hard but still running 80 in Utah and 70 in Idaho averaging 6.1... Granted I was much lighter leaving Salt Lake but I still should not be doing that in a "hood" LOL

I average 5.3 in my W9 with N14 Celect Plus, and I haul frac sand mostly, so a ton of PTO time and idle time.

And yeah, at 1500 RPM, you've still got some room left. A Cummins, unlike a Cat, likes to be wound up.

But you can't make any money with that kind of mileage. The rates are in the crapper..... LOL
