Yep. Those too. Rig moves are friggin insane. I remember my first one. We stand there and listen to a 45 minute safety meeting. Then everyone tosses it all out the window. Stuff starts flying, hanging off the backs of trucks, cranes got stuff flying over head, people running around all over the place, a loader running around. Just insane.

Rig moves are a cluster... Truck. I HATE it when I get the oily bits on my deck. I would rather get some catwalk or anything but those ###### oil containment tanks.

You know, i was thinking about winter after i got hooked up. I could see that being aggravating with ice around the thing or the cylinder not wanting to work right when its super cold.

So as i get home, im gonna be putting this Talbert in my shop and getting it oiled up real good. Hopefully that takes care of it.

Yea all this years of rig moving paid off. One time we had to move a Derrick under the interstate so we were going to two truck down there then set the A legs down on my lowboy to get under then load it back on the bed truck. I said hell lets just do it here and I'll take it to the other location. I backed up under that Derrick for 29 miles around a handful of corners got to the other end and told the truck pusher that was the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life.

I prefer pumps, the draw tool is nice as well especially when it has to be craned on and off so you're stuck under it all day.

It's not that the rig movers toss it all out the window, it's that we all know how to do our jobs as efficiently as possible and roughnecks that can't keep up are just in the way.

It's just crazy to a novice. Could you imagine a safety guy from some wharehouse out there? He'd probably have a heart attack. When I was on rig moves it was after some driver went behind the loader to move a 4X4 that it was about to run over and got run over himself. My new job was to walk around behind the loader all day to make sure no one got run over. Stupidest job ever. How much do you think I was able to keep up with the friggin loader lol. Most of the time he was finishing up on the other side of the pad by the time I made it over and then he was on his way back to the other end. Some of those oklahoma pads are huge too. On good days we would have 3 flaggers and set up zones. Most people though would refuse the job though and a lot of days we only had 1.
