Personally I'm not counting on the wood doing a whole lot. To me basically the wood is just there to hold the chain up to catch the coil. That's why I'll just stack my boards 3 or 4 high. Just enough to get the chain above the pallet.

If I can make a suggestion though, your chain should come down along side you dunnage. It helps hold it together and adds strength to your bulkhead. 20160527_190128.jpg

my thoughts exactly. I still cant figure out what he was trying to accomplish by doing it that way. I would say he was being lazy, but it prolly took more effort doing it that way versus doing it the right way.

You got it MJ. Will do.

Talk about scary. He tells me that he sees wrecks daily on his way to and from his patrol area. Hes got an hour drive each way from the base to the area he patrols. 2 days ago he said some dude was passing their convoy and had a headon collision right next to his humvee. Said theres no speed limits, no real traffic laws. When you wipe out, there aint no ambulances to come get you. You just lay. He said all they could do is watch that guy die in the middle of the road. Nothing they could do. He said its nuts over there and he gets that hairy feeling for that 1 hour ride up and back to the base each day. Said he never felt so unsafe on a road in his entire life.

He said when they wreck, usually they just leave them. He said theres burnt up cars and trucks EVERYWHERE.

Yeah, that was the plan, but the chain end for the straps on either side got in the way. And I couldn't move them closer or farther away.
