I had an issue last summer with the gas fill door while renting a Chevy Malibu. There was no finger slot on the door,.. so I was searching in vein inside the car for a button. The usual places revealed nothing.
I solved the problem by doing a google search on my phone.
Solution?
You push and then it pops open. LOL
EDIT:
While renting the Impala last week I was looking for a USB slot so I could charge my phone. I dont have a 12v charger due to having an inverter and generator in my truck,.. its simply not needed.
So looking around,.. I dont see one anywhere. So I say piss on it. Hopefully the phone makes it home. 12hr drive.
About 4 hrs into the drive I see a button under the digital screen for the radio in the dash. I push it and the whole screen goes up in in the air and behind it in a large box is the USB port. I wish I took a pic of that to show you how ridiculous this was. The screen would not close on its own with something plugged into the USB slot. I'd like to know what kind of engineer thought that was a good idea?
Everything else about the car was fantastic. Beyond the rear wheel drive days of the Impala SS,.. I have not liked any of the new Impala after. Including the Monte Carlo,.. they all sucked. But the new 2016 Impala is really not a bad car. While no V8 power,.. the V6 had some spunk. I took the car up to 130 before the gov kicked in. Smooth comfortable and predictable ride. I really enjoyed it. Brakes were good, acceleration was very good for a V6. Seats were much much more comfortable than previous cars.

Now I am starting to do a "drive away" program with my company. We supply drivers to drive tractor trailers for other companies. Think what you go through in a rental car, but now for the first time in a truck with unfamiliar controls you are pulling a bulk tank over hilly, muddy terrain. "Gee, I see there's an interaxle differential lock, but there's also a switch with a funny looking icon that seems to indicate it locks each axle"... looks good, let's active that one as well.
He didn't get the memo about the other switch...Hurst Thanks this. -
LOL
I went through that last summer with my carriers RGN.
It was a 2012 Coronado SD. There was 8 different ways to lock in the rear axles.
I'm the type of guy who has to try and play with everything to see what it does.

My playing with switches worked out in this situation. I was able to get by him and plow through another mile of gumbo. He had to wait for a tow truck and BARELY got through it with the assist. In fairness, he was empty and had far less weight on his drives.
