It's a long and winding story, first truck I drove was a Mack B63 triplex that's what a school had I got friendly with the instructor and he said as long as u us your pick up to plow out parking lot I will let u practice with rest of guys and when ready u can accompany us to go for license that was in 1979, my first job was driving for a company in woburn MA for a uniform company with locations all over country. they had a f model mack then I went into a Mack superliner cabover drove cross country for them till 1985 and then I bought my first truck identical to the frieghtliner on left in pic. u want more? 1.jpg 1.jpg 1.jpg

I ran that truck for 5 yrs hauling in and out of port of Boston till 1999 at that point I took over the terminal manager job of that company till it we sold to Evans at that point they closed terminal so I bought another truck 1990frieghtliner fld120similar to this I ran that till 2003 when someone approached me to help run a small trucking Co I worked with him till 2010 when market crashed forced back behind wheel again I bought a 1999 frieghtliner which I kept till 2012 at that point I moved on to another Co. that reached out to me to come onboard to help recruiting but as a o/o with the possibility they would hand over the operation in a few yrs but they would get a small % of what we did so the port of Boston had a program to get rid of older trucks but you had to work out of port for three yrs well that was a no brainer seeing I've been Associated with the port since 1985 in return I had to junk the 1999 shaker which the motor was about dead anyway and got 3000.00 for it and the port gave me another 25K so basically I got 28K for a old shaker that was at end of the road.so I looked for a truck and it was between a 2008 Volvo 780 with 400K on it and a 2009 w9 with 340K the Volvo was thru a dealer and the 9 private they we're both asking high 70S so I played them both against each other meanwhile my heart was pumping over the 9 in the end I got the guy that owned the 9 down to 65K and I said u got a deal the reason he did it is he had a hard time selling it cause it was a semi auto if it had an 18 speed he would have got much more he ordered the truck and since then have talked to the sales man at Kenworth who worked with him and he put everything in it sticker in 2009 165K so obviously the company I'm with now that promised me everything and I was the first and only truck for half a yr is now not giving me anything the backed of there promise and now have 6 trucks thanks to me and no work to feed us he promised that would never happen I had a good job where I was top dog and picked and the dispatcher I got the job knew how I liked to run and where I didn't and I gave that up to get possibly my own business with 5or6 trucks needless to say they lied what a shocker so I'm looking around for something to lease on to that pays good and has the base and I guess going back otr cause the container business isn't what it use to be . I know 31 yrs doing it . I left out where at one point I bought two trucks and put a driver in it that didn't work. I did better with just me . so basically that's it kinda

That one is a doorslammer's truck. Fairings and ground effects AND 13'4 hi rise sleeper. It's nice, but it isn't rugged. It's sort of like driving one of those Cadillac pickup trucks to the mud bog and parking next to Gravedigger.

I have not been driving that long but I have come to the realization that you either have one truck and drive it yourself or you have ten trucks with drivers in them. They guys that are in between that struggle a lot.
