My truck is running nicely after replacing both camshafts, roller assemblies for injectors and the the entire Jake assembly. Got a sweet team load from OKC to Casper, with a backhaul. Pays almost $5K to the truck after my brother gets his driver's share. Under 12K lbs to Casper and about 2K lbs back to OKC.
It was a balmy 0°F in Casper for the unload and load, but no wind.

Wound up firing my loader this morning. He started off with 6 12' packs and 2 10' packs on the deck. Refusing to finish the front of the load so I don't have to move my tarp back and forth. Well he goes to put the last packs on and I'm overhanging by a foot.
He had already annoyed me because he was adamant that I don't need belly straps that nobody ever uses them. I told him I didn't care and they're not driving my truck, I am. And that after they have a load of lumber shift I bet they start using them.
So he ends up swapping out the last packs which were 12' and puts in 2 8' packs so no more overhang. But then he wants to load the top back to front. I told him that's a bad idea because if he runs out of room he'll have to move the whole top layer to fix it. Well what the heck do I know so he does it anyway.
Then I tell him how I want the rest and he swears it won't fit and offers no other alternatives. Well I'd finally had enough and told him not to put anything else on my truck. I went into the office and requested a supervisor and someone who knows how to load a truck.
Supervisor comes out and I explain what went on. He then grabs another forklift operator and tells him "do whatever the driver says" 15 minutes later we are finally loaded.
How the heck are you the flatbed loader and can't figure out this load? Turns out every pack is 3" longer according to another employee that came over to apologize.
Man I put up with too much. I've gotten better about being assertive when it comes to safety. Now I need to work on being more assertive when they're wasting my time.Zeviander, johndeere4020, 4mer trucker and 6 others Thank this.
