I just did it quickly, but I was scratching my head how to cut a clean slot in plywood. If it was pine a sharp chisel should square up the middle cleanly. I know it's just a storage box but it's hard to build things half assed.

Drill a hole where the slot will end, the same diameter as the slot width, before you cut the edges of the slot. Then just cut to the edge of the hole. The end of the slots will be round but end up hidden once assembled so it doesn't really matter! You'll find things like that even in some high end cabinet work! Not really sloppy just more efficient to produce than chiseling a square corner that is hidden anyway.

If Ur going to follow @PeteyFixAll's suggestion U could do it with a Cordless Screwgun with a 3/4" Spade Bit and a Jig Saw

Take the 2 pieces of Plywood and layout Ur Keyway, Clamp em together and then Drill Ur 3/4 hole with the Spade bit. Make Ur 2 cuts with the Jig Saw and square up the round hole from the Spade Bit and Ur ready to pop em in the Case

Looks like Petey and I were "helping" at the same time haha!

    And by "clamps"
A few, say inch and a quarter to two inch number 8 screws, or there abouts work very well for this type of project.
I prefer a spline or torx drive! Lot better bit engagement!! Makes removing and reinstalling go better.

If Ur asking about the clamps? I would clamp the 2 together for drilling and cutting so they're the same

    No, not asking.
I am in full agreement on the clamping the two together.
line up the top with bottom, bottom with top,
    clamp together,
(since finish is not critical, just temporarily screw them together!)
find center of height and mark,
    send a flybit (spade) through,
run a saw up your line to either edge of your hole,
Unscrew, I mean unclamp the two pieces,
    slip together,
    insert in your Box!
    It should fit snuggly!
reuse your screws and screw it into the box...

Also, as truck dad is suggesting.
I would most likely use my StihlSaw for this project,
It came with a built in straight edge so you don't cut a curve,
You want a nice straight cut.
and has a finer tooth than my swedish trim saw, you'll get a cleaner cut in that plywood. the other great feature of the StihlSaw is with a little practice, you can can skip the fly bit!

Now it's not nice to over use the box, in time it'll start to show signs of wear,
    Not a good thing.
A good box, well taken care of will last a lifetime!

It's a good thing I'm in my armchair,
My carpentry skills are a little rough.

    OK
Let's see if we can't get back on track here!
    No carpentry
    No tractors
    No animals
    Etc.
So here is a flatbed load I did a few years ago,
    Well Cabin move.
15' wide, not tall, or very long.
    Jacked it up,
    IMG_0375.JPG
Backed trailer under it. and towed it out of the woods with a skidder to where I could hook on with my truck and towed it down the road to it's new home.
    IMG_0523.JPG
Where I pushed it back up into the woods to it's new location with my loader tractor.
    IMG_0538.JPG
It did get a little sketchy at times and Had to winch it some both to help steer and traction.
    IMG_0537.JPG
We built it as a deer camp and when the landowner changed and the new landowner did not continue our hunting privilege, we took our camp!
Oh Sorry about the tractors and hunting and such!
    It was on a flatbed!
