Been there, done there. Never again.
Lessons learned: no wood on wood and use dunnage with belly wraps.Ryan423, Lepton1, Razororange and 2 others Thank this. -
Another fine example of system going to ####. That's what you get when you go the swift route.Crusader66 and Lepton1 Thank this.

That was intentional. You get the weight over on the passenger side it helps to balance out the weight from the driver.Crusader66, Ryan423, Lepton1 and 7 others Thank this.

I'm guessing those tarps might migrate over to your trains some night?Crusader66, cnsper, Chewy352 and 2 others Thank this.

Good God...
Crusader66, Lepton1 and PeteyFixAll Thank this. -
That's what I did with those plate steel loads I've been doing. Two single steel tarps (probably 24x16), one per trailer. With some practice, I could probably turn out a fully tarped/secured load in a couple hours, from hookup to leaving. The last one took about 3.5 hours, which included them changing out some of the plates.ChaoSS, Crusader66, DDlighttruck and 3 others Thank this.

Nope, I don't play that. However I am going to wait until Monday and then send my boss a text. This train is nicer than mine in a multiple ways, newer too although I don't know the year. If it's already somebody else's regular then so be it but I'll ask anyway. If not I'll ask for tarps like it with the extra D-rings but trying to get tarps around here is typically like pulling teeth.
One box is full of chains and binders (PITA and a mess), and I do know a gun running without a headache rack to carry chains on his truck... May very well be his train.Crusader66, Oxbow, sawmill and 2 others Thank this. -
Midnight last night I get a wake-up call. "Bust ### and get over to [Shipper A] then get to [Shipper B]. Then deliver to two oil rigs near San Antonio!"
I hadn't finished pressing my coffee and making a new pot when I got another call. "Okay, oil rig #2 cancelled. You only need to go to [Shipper A]."
This was the hot load. Two "collars" and two "kit boxes". Total weight about 6500 lbs. Three pieces of dunnage and nine straps. Easy peasy and paying about $2.70 per mile to the truck. Taking a 10 and look at loads off the load board heading back towards OKC.
KenworthGuyNH, Dye Guardian, Crusader66 and 8 others Thank this. -
Well I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet, deadhead back to OKC. Lots of cheap loads in Texas. I won't waste my time. Currently stuck on I-35 just short of the OK border. Accident is blocking both lanes at the bridge.
KenworthGuyNH, Crusader66, cke and 2 others Thank this.
