When I review an applicants resume, one of the most important items I look at is employment history (duration and number of employers). Companies that "pulse" hire won't care about this, companies that are worth dedicating your time and effort to will pass up a potential employee that "job hops".

It's always interesting listening to someone attempt to explain why they have had multiple employers in a "short" time span and make it appear that it was their decision to terminate employment and they left on good terms :biggrin_25523:

I don't have to explain it. Call them up and they'll tell you. The only thing they're unhappy about is that I haven't come back.

You will also need to take into account other factors as well tho, such as the fact he has only been driving for 4 yrs and the companies he has worked for. You can't really blame a guy for leaving the bottom feeders. And also you have to take into consideration rate of pay and life changes.

I'm not really one to talk as I have worked for 3 companies in 2 years, but my driving record doesn't hold me down either. A company see's 1 million safe miles with 0 accidents and 0 violations it doesn't hurt ;)

I'm accident and ticket free and I've done everything from tanks, dumps, roll-offs, steps, flats, and some RGN. All of the companies I left would re-hire me except for one. I've had alot of work related to the gas patch and a couple of companies I hired on with got slow, I don't know about you but I cant feed my family with 10 hours of work a week...

FYI, I never worked for a company with over 50 trucks either, and just because they are small doesn't mean their not a bottom feeder...

Hell, I job-hop everyday. The shipper who pays me the most is my employer of the day. It's a little difficult to give them 2-week notices, but I always leave on a good term. In fact, sometimes I quit and get re-hired the very next day by the same shipper! :biggrin_2559:

Logan, are you going with Freeport? If so good luck, guess I won't be looking out for you in the Myers truck anymore, rarely see those guys anyway so I can't blame you for going where the work's at.
