Now you know why that snake was hanging out on the window sill ;)

On a serious note- You guys really need to call an exterminator. Mice, snakes, spiders and lord only knows what else. You couldn't pay me to sleep in that house

If that was a brown recluse, it would be open warfare. That's a wolf spider of some kind, pretty much harmless, but disturbingly smart. She eats other bugs and they love to kill recluses, so she gets a pass. I was going to toss her outside but she won't let me catch her.

Nah, it's not bad. There's nothing upstairs cept for the occasional fly when somebody leaves a door open. If there were any mice there's 4 cats to deal with that. This is a partially finished basement and the window screens are gone, need to replace those.

The snake was technically outside and the roomate brought it in to get some pictures. It was just trapped in the basement window well. The frog hopped in through the open window over my desk, and I think the spider was here before we moved in. Now I think she's just in here to munch on the occasional bug that flies in and to mess with me in the meantime.

So it's not like we have a vermin problem, we just have the usual things that come with living on the edge of a small town in the middle of the country. That spider, though, the picture doesn't really do her justice. She's almost jet black. That power brick she's hiding behind, and she actually ran over there closer to me to get behind it when I noticed her, is a half inch taller than a pack of smokes, and twice as long. If she were sitting on a pack with her legs stretched out, they'd be hanging over the edge of the pack.

    SHC Thanks this.
