I feel the same way. I always look at the securement used by other drivers, or lack thereof

We used to move a lot of large diameter concrete pipe.
The problem is that the transport usually costs about as much as the pipes do unless the plant is under 400 miles from the delivery point.
Only on the really big stuff (10ft and up) do we get hauls over 400 miles.

The sad part is, they always get semi trucks in there. They acted like it was no big deal. Like I told the guy, getting in wasn't a problem, it was getting back up that washboard drive of theirs!

You do what you have to to feel comfortable. Don't let anyone tell you different. My brother is the same way.

Don't have hazmat and won't get it. Why do you even need it, cause of the coating they put on the wire?

I know Freeport, I think, that hauls a lot out of there.

Yeah I guess some of the loads you need hazmat on your license but no placards? Something about the coating on the wire being a reportable quantity but not enough to need placards...I didn't really understand it but that's how they ship them all of the time.

Yeah we haul alot out of there, our fleets mostly red petes.

I just started there a few weeks ago, I was hauling water to gas wells but that business really got slow so I went to FTI, I only live 10 minutes from their terminal so it works out good for me.

    It's called ORM-D if that's the case.

check the shipping papers to confirm. It still has to be declared.
