We have a customer that manufactures steel trusses. We have delivered 5-6 loads there so far. We had 2 empty there today. The first truck got reloaded, but we couldn't come up with anything for the guy that unloaded in the afternoon.

On a normal week we have 3-5 in Central NY. Good farm country.

Unloading at Nellis in the A.M. And then going across the street to pickup some "Packrat" containers headed to Cincinnati.

I saw a truck the other day that was nearly identical to yours going through KC. Shiny Western Star, flat top, newer aluminum flatbed, only it was candy apple red.

I don't know if this would work in your neck of the woods but this is what I did and it worked well.
Spend some time at equipment auctions.
    (1) You find a bunch people with an immediate need as they have just purchased equipment that needs moving.
In other words a bunch of potential customers in one spot that have a need you can fill.

    (2) You meet the decision makers face to face as they don't send non decision makers to bid on capital equipment.
The setting is usually less formal then an office type meeting and the mood is better.
Getting face time with the decision makers at another time is almost impossible.

    (3) The people you meet at auctions are usually in good financial shape so first time risk is lower.

Do a good job and often your foot is in the door.
