Oh yeah, he wasn't happy but I just joked around with him a bit and he loosened up.

Chaining was a ##### tho, especially where they loaded them on the trailer but I got it figured out.

    Thanks.

well in my defence The other driver that was showing me how to tarp said to tarp first. I was going to strap it first, but i got so distracted with the whole (how the hello do i tarp this?) thing that i tarped it first lol :biggrin_2559:

it was actully really easy. After hearing guys wineing about tarping all these years i thought it was going to suck. But even at 28* this morning i still had fun doing it, didnt take very long. Took longer to hook 100 bungies on it then it did to put the tarp on lol.

Yeah, tarping bundles of steel plate is kind of a pain since your tarp is triple the size of the load, so u have to fold and tuck it, but still not too bad. Once the wind picks up tho tarping anything is a chore!!

    cpassey Thanks this.

i bet, this load was an easy rectangle. I'm not looking forward to tarping weird stuff but i guess thats all part of the fun of flatbedding right?

I have mixed feelings on wind.....I've always wanted to fly :biggrin_2559:

Most expensive (valuable) load I have hauled....46000 lbs of 5/16 copper rod...do a few of these a month here lately. Only pays $3.00 a mile plus tarp fee...go figure

Hey American Trucker...just a tip if you dont already know..its a good habit to turn your bungee hooks to the outside to keep them from poking holes in the tarps.....
