The worst is having to roll them back up nice and tight to fit in the headache rack when they are frozen and covered in ice or snow or even just frost! PITA!!!!!

I love the rare occasions when I get to flatbed but i sure do HATE tarps, I'm very glad I've hauled mostly equipment and pipe that doesn't need tarped.

Im not sure what i hate more....what you said, rolling up tarps in wet mussy lot with standing water....or trying to roll them up neatly in 30+ mph gusts like we had here the other day.

All three make me want to wad them up and toss in nearest dumpster:mrgreen:

I will add i sometimes get enjoyment out of tarping a nice square flat load...like say 12 bundles of 2x4x16. I take pride in making it look good and trying to beat my best time. I usually time myself from when i get out of truck to start...till when i stick my gloves back in door and get back in truck. Then i can figure out what i made per hour with my tarp pay. Hah

Lay it out on the trailer and fold it up, or wad it up, strap it down, and take it somewhere with dry ground to stretch it out on. I don't like slogging around in crap if I can avoid it.

me either, but the few times i had to it couldnt be avoided....

Although i get a good laugh everytime i see a huge wadded up tarp ball held down with a few straps....because i know what the driver must have been through, weve all been there and its best to just laugh about it.

The Challenger and Logan76 Thank this.
