SHC Thanks this.

No not my trailer but it is one of our other guys. He had a 50,240 single on it. Its a chapparel or was. One side broke as he was coming out of the mill, the other side broke backing back in the door. He was lucky. The trailer is an 01. It really has everyone confused as to why it broke like this. As you can see in the pics below there is very little or no corrosion between the suspension and frame....

Sometimes things just break with stress, what can ya do? I hope that he got that covered by charpparel or atleast his insurance?
He is pretty lucky that thing didn't crack like that going down the road! -
Don't know his personal stuff and don't want to cause it isn't my business but yeah I hope your right and someone does cover it.
ANd yeah if that would've broke going down the road it would have been a major accident! -

Insurance might cover it but i doubt that chaparal(sp) will with it being an 01.
They're not even in business anymore are they?I know they sold or changed the name of their livestock trailer line a few years ago.
You want to talk about junk now those were junk from the get go.They didn't use rivets, they had some sort of adhesive or glue for the crossmembers & it lasted a few years then started coming apart.
Sorry for the derailing. -
Dang Carl what happened there?
