    I wouldn't be. I saw plastic mudflaps sprayed with line-x when I was at the store and I thought the same but the guys working there said the complete opposite. Yes they are heavier but so much more durable. Keep in mind to that stuff does not crack. It can bend without cracking no problem. I like the Line-x because it it has a lifetime warranty and the color is said to not fade out. I like that since the black is nice and shines too.

    It's not the line-x I would be worried about, it's the fiberglass under it. I understand it's strong, I've seen plastic toys and empty coke cans coated with it. It's hard to keep fenders from cracking on they're own at the mounting points from the vibration.

    This is my load today, going to Maine. Was to be 101" wide and turned out to be 105" wide because this one has fenders on it. Should be fun, this is the kind of stuff I've been wanting to do :)
