I know Georgia requires brick loads to be tarped or otherwise be able to keep "debris" from bricks, blocks, etc.. from breaking loose in transit and becoming shrapnel. If you've had any trouble this may be what you have to be aware of. It's another aspect of load securement, like if you're hauling debris in a dump truck, you need to have it tarped so the wind/vacuum can't propel it into other vehicles.
Good Luck

That's why I seen loads of bricks with tarps.... I was thinking "why the heck would you tarp bricks??"

In WA if they are not shrink wrapped you have to have the cages or tarp them

Some state are pickier than others, but I am pretty sure any officer could write a ticket for the way you are securing (which is exactly how my drivers haul them). We haul a lot less brick that we used to. This is due in part to lower demand (fewer housed being built) and because brick tends to move at "competitive" rates. The way it has been described to me is if you have a loose brick, which is inevitable, you could be cited for failing to secure your load. We have not run into this often (possibly never).
There are certain yards that make brick that was not meant to be put on a truck. Redland Brick out of Williamsport, MD produces a brick that is supposed to look antique or weathered...aka not square or sharp edges. Needless to say all loads out of there need to be wrapped, tarped, or v-boards used. Also, watch out for brick that is wire cut.The Challenger Thanks this. -
Thanks Cpape, I haul out of that same place, and the brick im getting is regular square bricks.
