I understand what your saying, its just that I really didn't think that much about it because they do travel around the world and see a lot of different drivers. But next time if i'm not sure on how to go about doing something i'll defiantly ask!

I chained the bottoms, and I just put the straps on as extras and the good thing is I didn't tighten them to much!

If you want to secure them extra, put a cross at the front and back.
A cross meaning top rightcorner to leftside off floor, topleft corner off the can to rightside off the floor.
We allways did it like that.
Done that way,i wouldn't bother with the bottom chains you put.
But better 1 to many then one to less.:yes2557:

While we are on the subject off hauling cans on a flatbed, here's another tip:
Put a piece off rubber under each corner(a thin piece off wood will also have the same effect)

I do that. Keeps the corners from eating on my aluminum deck.

Locomotive fuel tanks. They have eyelets on the front an back but nothing in the middle. So I had to argue for an hour with the shipping manager about putting a strap across the middle. They are 16' long so it requires something, and they refused to let me put a strap. After making a few calls, LS got ahold of the owner of the company who showed up and I explained I needed to secure the middle with something. He finally gave in and I tossed the strap across..... It was "either I put a strap on it, you weld an eyelet on the middle, or you take them off and find another truck"

    I hate places like that....

They didn't want the paint scratched. The boss then explained to the shipping manager that they are only primer in black and the railroad will paint them once they place them on the engine.

It just gets frustrating sometimes because the guy acted like I was lying to him or something.
