    Yes the corners are very tight over by the airport and prison where they do there road test... there is 1 stop sign for you not the other street. if a car is coming sit and wait even if you can make it, i have seen them fail many guys at that point, and really watch your speed.

    the use a 48' spread with jersey barriers on it...

    they have really good securement training and tarp training

    i don't think i would call them a Mega carrier but they are working towards it..


    FYI there is a walmart just a few miles away that a bus can take you too if needed or drive if you have a car

    i don't mind a "bump" but if the whole truck is shaking from it i let them know about it

    I wasn't suggesting you were wrong, just that if it is a case of where a strap can't be used, then it should be fine so long as the securement used meets the regs for immobilizing the cargo. Examples that I frequently encounter are tanks or towers that are insulated and the insulation is covered with a thin corrugated metal. If I use a strap it will crush the insulation and the covering, rendering them useless. On those loads I can only chain them on the ends, and some of them are in excess of 40 feet long.

    thanks for the info man. they are actually buying me a plane ticket up there so i wont have transportation but dont have to ride a bus either.

    so how should i make a tight turn with a spread? not sure if they would fail me for turning to wide and taking part of the oncoming turn lane or something like that.

    i hauled one of those back in june, they tried to tell me the stack can't come off of the top, the jack wagons nice load though
