After Being out of Commision for almost 2 weeks its good to be back to work!! First Shot is Of a Super Tight Delivery in Brooklyn the rest are of my very first load that had to be tarped, what do you guys think of my tarping skills? I will admit I have some guidance from another trucker who was there at the pickup with me. All comments are more than welcome no matter if Positive or Negative just trying to get better at tarping!

Yeah those tarps my boss gave me are friggin huge 26x26 I believe Any pointers on unrolling & rolling up these suckers I #### near broke my neck about 4 times unrolling cuz there was snow on top of the freight and it was sooo dang slippery but I guess with an tall/semi tall load like thats the only way to being tarping is to climb up and start unrolling right?

Looks good....when you're not busy take a pair of pliers and pinch one end of the hook closed otherwise they'll fall out

I hear ya SHC I dont mind tarping and I want to do it a few more times just to get the basics of it down but if I had an choice....yeah I'd pick the non tarped load everyday! But in the meantime gotta find a way to get the west or south or a combination of the two running NY-NJ-PA up to New England and back costs wayy to much in tolls for the rates these ppl are paying and beats the crap outta my Pete

The key to easier tarping is to make sure you do a good job rolling them up. They go on so much better the next time.

Mackdaddy: When I get a transition from the load being short to tall like you have I put a strap outside the tarp right where it drops down to keep it tight. Hope that makes sense.

Btw your tarp job looks just fine

Thanks MJ what u describe makes perfect sense the strap keeps the tarp tight and it doesnt beat itself to death while rolling down the road right?

Exactly....did that flip or flop much? Usually does it when it's a big transition
