I didn't like that pyramid stacked pipe I hauled at all. Steel pipe coated with soft plastic so you couldn't use chains on it. I made it all the way from Houston to Alexander, ND and was turning into the field where they were set up to unload when it finally settled and busted the rail.

Coated pipe can be some #### but you have to know how to strap it. A good belly strap takes two straps hook one to the side of the trailer and go under the load and back to a winch on the same side of the trailer do another right next to it going the other way. Do this on each end and then strap over the top and the load will never move. I've hauled miles of line pipe most of it on an extendable steerable pipe trailer and love doing it. As for drill pipe or casing I used to prefer hauling it pyramid stacked but any more I would rather strip and strap as I can get it held down better and it is easier to load as you don't have to collar the ends to get it to lay right.

Shipper would not allow me to strap it that way. I should have gone down the street, stopped, and done it my way anyway, but I had been there the entire day waiting to get loaded and was good and ready to get the hell down the road.

I'd have told them to get the #### off my trailer. Once it's on my trailer it belongs to me and I'll tie it down anyway I see fit. I've left more than one load at a shipper who wanted to tell me how to tie a load down. Unfortunatly a company driver doesn't usually have that option.

Yeah, they kinda wore me down with the 6 hour wait to load. And you can't wait in your truck (though I did anyway). They have benches in front of the shipping office window. You have to sit there outside (literally outside) until they blare something unintelligible (possibly in spanish) over the loudspeaker. But hey, wasn't my rail on my trailer that got busted. Wasn't me that set the load up. Wasn't me that kept going to freakin Texas over and over again (even though we got stuck there with no load out every single time).

I just need to hang out for a while until I finish the rest of the transfer of my accounts to the credit union from the stupid bank and work on getting a loan to get my own trailer and a truck to pull it. No more middlemen.
