    966 on the stretch trailer.
And seeing as we are talking securement......6 chains from the machine to the trailer, 1 chain from the trailer, across the quick coupler, to the other side of the trailer. All 3/8 7400lb stamped chain/binders.

Although I have seen the WLL either stamped, or embossed on binders, I've never seen it done that way on chains. Usually chains have the grade on them, such as g7, or gr70 for grade 70. Looking at the tables the closest chain to a WLL of 7400lb is a 7/16" grade 43 at 7200lb. In 3/8" a gr70 is 6600lb and the next one up is a gr80 at 7100lb, followed by gr100 at 8800lb.
Where did you get those chains and what brand are they?

Sorry, grade 80. Got most of them (IIRC) from our shop. The rest I got "along the way". All made in the USA though, as I have seen the China crap break a few times, and it was scary!
I always work on 6600 lbs though, as I had a discussion with a scale guy in Spokane,Wa years ago about this very thing. He ended up coming out to look at the chains, hooks, binders, etc to make sure I had enough on the load. Seeing as I always work up from the minimum, all was good anyways.
I really need @4- 1/2" short chains and binders again though, I sold all my 1/2" stuff when I sold the 4 axle many years ago, was a package deal for the guy as he had nothing when he bought the truck.

If you have chains made up at a rigging shop they will make you a plate and attach it to the chains.

That's what all of my grade 100 1/2 inchers have on them. Buggers were expensive I bought 20 of them and spent right at 16 grand on just the chains. Still have all twenty six are still in the barrel. They are rated at 15000 wll and I have ratchet binders to match them I also only use them on my lowboy and hook into the side of the outside frame rail which I'm sure is rated at least that.

I like that method, using gr70 specifications for calculating the minimum WLL, but actually using higher WLL equipment. You should never end up in trouble with that method. Very clever!
