arent the front ends the same? just according to the spec of the axle? like 12, 14 20k?
maybe the set foward axle of the w9 help reduce the stress on the axle due to the smaller amount of weight and not turning as sharp as a set back?

That could very well be. With fuel tanks full, the steer on my truck carries 11,600 lbs, empty or fully loaded.
Surprisingly steer tires last reasonably well. I avoid cranking steering without rolling unless it's absolutely necessary, though. -
She may have been old, but she sure wasn't slow!
Lang's A model was definitely cherry.
I prefer to buy older trucks with mechanical motors, or early electronic motors. I can work on them myself, and if they are a one or two owner truck, I know the history (if they are anything like me when it comes to maintaining records).
The aerodynamic anteater trucks just don't do it for me. Give me a Cabin-Over or a nice long hood any day of the week (and twice on Tuesday!) -

Delivered today. 17'6" wide and 18'8" tall. 5 hours to go 71 miles. 7 bucket trucks to lift the low wires.

Wow... Sounds like a cool load. One day I would love to get into HH/OD. AFTER I get more experience.
-
Those are always fun when you have to have bucket trucks. Of course I'd much rather 22 foot wide than throw a set of tarps.

What exactly is a bucket truck? Because what I am picturing is the once they use for say, tree trimming or fixing electricity poles/lines. How would they use these to unload that thing?
-
There not using them to unload the load they were using them to either remove phone/electric lines or hold them up so the load can get under them.
alex94 Thanks this.
