Very rare moon wood. If they go back to the moon, they will expand 100 times that size.

OK this was to roll over to get axled out......but they where 3/8 chains with 8800#wll binders. I added two more 5/16 to be well over the 45k load. but did nothing for forward/aft movement is that wrong?

i just always was told that on flat you need a couple crossing in the front/back to keep it from sliding. at least get some 4x4's in front of it, since your upper deck is so far forward..

parked and emptying up street first thing in the AM. so not sweating it much now.

but I did just read in the FMCSA hand book that "friction" is allowed if the Proper "down force" is applied..got waived thru the coop at on I15..not that-that means much

Eh, maybe its just my company and their "over-securement" policy...lol

I pull a flat, not a step, so I just feel safer having an x in the front to prevent it from sliding. I throw one in the back too because its company policy, but I think it'd be a whole lot easier to slide forward than backwards. other than that, you had enough securement and looked good. :)

You do realize that even though your binders are rated at 8,800lbs, your WLL is only as high as your lowest rated piece in your tiedown assembly? 3/8th, gr70 chain is 6,600 lb and if your anchor point is 5,500lb, then your limit is 5,500 per assembly.

As to your question, no, you did nothing wrong legally. X chains are not required by the regs, front or rear. But, they sure don't hurt.

I might have been able to do that, but in the past my front axle on the spead would be over 20k and the rear would be like 18k. so I got in a habit of putting a little weight on the rear of trailer...however after replacing the bags on the trailer and raising the fifth wheel on truck, I dont seem to have that trouble any more. I will slowly work the heavier loads more forward till I get comfortable again. been door slaming for a couple months and now back to a real trailer....takes a few loads to rember where she likes to axle out.
