Cant believe that the new flexplate is not running true....I had to make another flexplate to bolt to it with spacers, but the LSx one is stout enough to handle it. Be interesting to unbolt the one I made and see what the LSx one does I guess. Explains the small puddle of tranny fluid on the bell housing I guess, wallowed out the tranny input seal I would guess....

Leftlane, My stress level and blood pressure would be through the roof working on that project.
I give you credit for doing your hobby.
Hope you get the kinks worked out. -
The Challenger and dannythetrucker Thank this.

I guess what hurts me is not having a shop.
I've learned how to fix or fab things with the tools I carry in the trk.
Some things I also have to have other people do.
Tomorrow I need to make shims for the deck so when I strech the trl. it wont sag.. -
passingthru69 Thanks this.

Well.....after getting the exhaust done yesterday, we heard a tap tap tap in the lower end.
Turns out the brand new flexplate on the LSx had a ton of runout in both directions!
Looked this morning, and the adapter flexplate that goes from the Range Rover torque converter to the LSx flexplate, had a crack in it due to the runout/vibration.
Pulled the transfer case, transmission, and the torque converter was stuck to the tranny oil pump! After some "persuasion" it came free, along with a bronze bushing and the input seal!
Dropped tranny and torque converter off at my tranny guys shop, and am about to head out to the garage to measure the runout with my dial indicator and magnetic base. No doubt some "Made in China" POS on the LSx, that just possibly ruined at the very least a fluid pump in a fully rebuilt transmission.....

Not sure if I'm supposed to post here or in the heavy haul section, this weeks load does have the yellow solar panels on both ends but it's not heavy, only 25,000#. Anyway another 20' X 60' from Tulsa, OK to Savannah, GA but I'm stuck at the Missouri/Oklahoma state line till Saturday because Missouri can't get me state trooper escorts till then. 3 day of fun in the sun in the booming resort town of Seneca, MO
